THE BACKUP MAN

"I loved the subtle humour, laughed my head off", IFFYNTX, Wichita Falls, Texas

"Funny" - **/5 stars, The Gazette, Montreal

GREAT FILM!!!! It is wonderful, superbly acted,  fantastically shot... and the writing was funny, tongue-in-cheek, sweet, emotional and very very well received. Truly, a Bravo!.

A new feature comedy and Quebec/New Brunswick co-production starring Isabelle Cyr, Dennis Cutts, Patrizio Sanzari and Constantine Kourtidis directed by Doug Sutherland. This is the story of two small town cops (Dennis Cutts and Patrizio Sanzari) , a woman on the run (Isabelle Cyr) and a big time hit man (Constantine Kourtidis).

All the elements are here to make this a crowd pleaser. Small town, likeable characters, warm fuzzy/feel good emotions and superb acting. The public will love Patrizio Sanzari, a Marty Feldman type comic actor from Montreal, who plays the dumb cop. Isabelle Cyr is fantastic in the role of the Italian woman on the run. The public will also enjoy the performance of Dennis Cutts as the mature cop who is driven into a violent rage by his idiotic partner.

The film screened in May at the Cannes Film Festival and we are presently negotiating a US distribution deal.
