The story of Ruth Keeley, a low rent hit woman with a shoe fetish. After killing an older woman in a nursing home, a hit woman Ruth Keeley befriends the woman's neighbour and a strange relationship develops between the two women. In their conversations Ruth reveals piece by piece her life as a contract killer.

Based on the real life story of Ruth K., codename for a Canadian hit woman from New Brunswick who killed numerous people all over the Eastern seaboard from Maine to Florida according to a 2004 FBI report. She was particularly adept at burking elderly patients in rest homes and employed the garotte and revolver. Rumours have it that she threw in the towel in 2008 after the disappearance of her handler - a bail bonds insurance operator in Maine.

 

 

The film is a Cinegraphe Quebec/New Brunswick feature thriller written and directed by Nicholas Kinsey, produced by Kinsey and Andrée Tousignant, and shot in Eastern Quebec and New Brunswick. Crew credits include casting by Josa Maule and Julie Matthews, production management and coordination by Andrée Tousignant and Pascale Pomminville, production design by Andrew Long, editing and photography by Nicholas Kinsey, costumes by Judith Cyr, makeup by Tammy-Lou Pate, hairdressing by Michael Bonnette, continuity by Véronique Lefort, 1st assistant director Doug Sutherland, camera assistants Steve Currie and Daniel Greenwood, sound recording by Jordan Roherty and Robert Gemmell, lighting by Gary Beatty, music composition by Ralf Cassidy Bindels. Post-production was completed at Deluxe Labs in Toronto and sound mixing at Studio Expression in Quebec City.
