Carlton Films is proud to release the excellent German feature film by Pepe Planitzer, winner of the public prize at the Emden Aurich-Norderney film festival. The film stars Karl Kranzkowski, Christina Grosse and the young Duc Vu Trung in a vibrant homage to lost hope and redemption. This film is a natural crowd-pleaser and will do very well in the multi-ethnic Canadian panorama.

Bruno Winter (Karl Kranzkowski), mid fifties, used to work as a surgeon in East Germany until he lost his job after taking leave without permission in a foreign country. Now he drives a bus and is bored with his life. His mother offers to buy him a wife and set him up in a new life in the old family stable. Bruno goes for the deal and soon meets lovely Anita (Christina Grosse), a mule for the local mafia who is forced to smuggle children across borders. Unfortunately for Bruno, Anita is not for sale…

Produced by Wolfgang Kätzke of E-Motion Pictures in collaboration with Südwestrundfunk, Filmförderung Baden-Würtemberg, and Filmförderung Hamburg.
